Deer Lake Hosting 2018 NL Winter Games

The Town of Deer Lake has been named Host for the 2018 NLGames next winter.

Plans are well underway to establish dates, confirm participating sports, and prepare facilities to host some 1400 athletes, coaches and managers for an exciting week of competition.

Bids Invited For Next 4 NLGames

The Provincial Government is inviting bids from interested communities for hosting of the next 4 NLGames, namely 2018 Winter, 2020 Summer, 2022 Winter and 2024 Summer.

Torch Relay This Saturday

The Torch Relay for the NLGames CBS 2016 is tomorrow Saturday August 6 starting 10am in Topsail. Come out and cheer on the Torch Bearers as they carry the flame though the entirety of CBS, ending in Seal Cove around 1pm.

The Pep Rally in Parson's Field following the relay will be your opportunity to meet the athletes of the Host Team, and catch a glimpse of the Games Cauldron as it is unveiled!

CBS 2016 1-Year Countdown Event Aug 22

Be sure to drop by the Topsail Soccer Turf Field in CBS this Saturday August 22 to be part of the 1-year countdown event for the NL Summer Games CBS 2016!

The fun starts 10:30am and runs for 2 hours with t-shirts, food, and a chance to try out each of the 10 sports that will be part of the Games.

Clarenville 2014
has come and gone with a great week of competition, a wonderful Closing Ceremony Saturday evening, and a safe trip home for all 2nd half participants on Sunday.

Thanks so much to the Host Committee, 500 volunteers, 1300 participants and 100 Officials. And congratulations to Western Region on winning the Premier's Cup for most points accumulated, and the Host Region Clarenville on winning both the SportNL Cup for most improved region, and the Lieutenant Governor's Award for the region best demonstrating overall spirit of friendly competition and sportsmanship.

We look forward to an equally impressive event at the upcoming 2016 NL Summer Games in CBS.
